About The Ghost Who Saved Halloween

It’s up to Ghost to save Halloween in this irresistible picture book that’s CLEVER, FUN, SPOOKY, and SWEET – releasing July 21, 2026 with HarperCollins.

Might I try a good ‘ole haunt? Ghostly games I have to flaunt. Forgive me, I don’t mean to taunt… Ok, maybe I do.

Candy has upstaged Ghost on Halloween for far too long! It’s time for Ghost to learn a NEW trick and treat these kids to a good ole haunt or else the holiday will fall flat like a busted pipe organ! To the tune of Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven, this spirited and clever rhyming picture book, ideal for Halloween read-alouds, is sure to enchant young readers all spooky season long!

Coming Soon, The Ghost Who Saved Halloween‘s FREE Classroom Companion including a Slide Deck for Educators with Built-In Resources! Add this NEW and ENGAGING Halloween story to YOUR Fall Lesson Plans, filling your classroom with unforgettable and educational Halloween fun!

Book Jen for a FUN SEL + STEAM-themed School Visit

The Ghost Who Saved Halloween glow in the dark time

Each session will include: An Introduction from Jen with a SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL LEARNING emphasis on Persistence and Determination.

Next, Jen will deliver an ENERGETIC and HUMOROUS reading of her book, The Ghost Who Saved Halloween, with INTERACTIVE moments for DETECTING CONTEXT CLUES, CALL AND RESPONSE, and PREDICTION.

For younger audiences: Jen will invite students to SHARE how they saw Ghost use his persistence and determination, and we’ll EXPLORE “How was Ghost feeling here?” “How was Spider helping?” “How did Ghost make things right?” etc.

For older audiences: Jen can steer into the STEAM aspect of the book, working with the students to first PLAN and then ENGINEER their very own “Scare Machine” like Ghost built in the story – A FUN and INTERACTIVE project with optional worksheet for classroom application or homework.

Finally, Jen will welcome a round of a Q&A (both sporadic or teacher-curated questions are welcomed).
