The Calm Before…

Long time, no type! But, I’ve been a busy ghoul.

Release day for The Ghost Who Saved Halloween was pretty much a dream come true! I’d heard from friends that release day can be sort of a let down, but I was determined to keep it joyful and purposeful, and THAT it was! We celebrated all through the day while also filming for my Hot Ghouls series, and then quickly released this Reel below.

So so much fun! Thank you to my Boo Crew President, my Momma Hilde, for being my camera woman and Hot Ghoul cohort! And, thanks to my Hot Ghoul mini me, Jemma, who’s always willing to go the extra mile in a Summerween-themed sheet!

Since then, I’ve done a few really fun and successful story times! My first being July 25 at Best of Books in Edmond, OK – an absolutely smashing turnout and another dream come true!

And the next Saturday, August 1, we went over to my dear Lex’s store, Lost and Bound, near Yukon, OK. My heart was so so full from all of the incredible children and grown ups who just ate up all of the Summerween fun we had to offer.

Since then, I’ve been taking it as easy as I know how and/or have attempted a few creative endeavors that have proven plenty fruitful!

And if you can believe it, I had one whole Saturday where we gloriously did nothing followed by August 29, when we threw a wonderfully successful Great Gatsby-themed Murder Mystery Luncheon for my daughter’s 12th Birthday Party! A day I’ll never forget. See below.

Now, I find myself in a sort of calm before a truly busy season for me, my family, and for The Ghost Who Saved Halloween. I have my very first Halloween-themed Storytime tomorrow at Full Circle Bookstore in Oklahoma City, and then all the Book Tour craziness begins! Perhaps I’ll share a little as I go!? Time will tell.

For now I’ll leave you with this: I’m so so thankful to God for all of the things that have gone well and gone right. I acknowledge that for authors, it’s not always this wonderful. I’ve been very blessed. Things are not always easy and some days aren’t ear to ear grins for me, but all in all I’m very grateful for all of the ways the Lord has moved, positively positioning me right where I’m meant to be.

I appreciate everyone’s kindness and support and I hope you’ll continue bearing with me through the next 50 or so days as we carry Ghost to the finish line!
